Just when you thought how marvellous that person is dressed , how well they speak, what grace & poise they carry themselves with....
We spend more time going to the Gym , Pilates , Nail Salon , Hair Dresser , Waxer , Health Food shop , Sun Tan solarium than spending time with the Lord.
We look after our Physical needs more than our Spiritual needs.
The Lord sees what is inside.
1 Samuel 16:7 ESV — But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.”
What did Jesus also say that reflected his Father's Words ?
Matthew 23:25 ESV — “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.
Matthew 23:26 ESV — You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.
Matthew 23:28 ESV — So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
The habits & sin of the Scribes & Pharisees are also reflected in our modern society with the "look at me" culture.
How does one clean the inside ?
It is a process of full submission to Jesus Christ.
John 3:3 ESV — Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Then you will bear the fruit thereof.
