Mary the Mother of Jesus, what a beautiful role model.
I will speak honestly here , having come from a Catholic background, & truthfully coming to Christ & being born again by him alone, I have struggled with the Roman Catholic Churches "deification" of Mary the Mother of Jesus.
I have asked of the Lord , wondered & read Biblical context to get a deeper understanding of how Mary fits such an important biblical narrative of Christ our Saviour.
Sometimes simplicity is the answer , thankyou Lord. šā„ļø
The Magnificat or "The Song of Mary" has given me better insight.
(The Catholic Church, Eastern Orthodox Church, Lutheran Church, Anglican Communion include it in their services to a degree)
In context when Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth who is carrying "John the Baptist" in her womb , the unborn child "John" leaps for joy as Mary greets Elizabeth.
Mary is carrying Jesus Christ our Lord & Saviour. (Luke 1:39-45)
The Holy Spirit enters Elizabeth at that time.
Elizabeth was a vessel of the Holy Spirit proclaiming.
Luke 1:42 KJV ā And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
If the Lord declares Mary to be "Blessed amongst Women" who are we to contend?
Further more each time Mary spoke , she was magnifying, glorifying, lifting up the Father.
My Soul doth magnify the Lord
And my Spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour
(Luke 1:46-56)
What a beautiful Woman of Christ each time pointing to the Glory of Our Father whilst holding him also in herself as a vessel. (the womb of Christ)
This is a lesson we should all strive for, as Jesus repeatedly spoke about this in scripture.
John 14:20 KJV ā At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
Mary was in the Father & Christ was in her ā„ļøā„ļøā„ļøā„ļøš
John 14:21 KJV ā He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Mary the 1st disciple...........
