Given Thanks

When Jesus taught or sat with people who were gathered with him, part of teaching was "giving thanks" for the provision of the gathering, food & fellowship in the name of the Lord.

This is called "eucharisteō" in Greek.
It is to be grateful , to feel thankful - for provision - specifically from the Father.
Nowadays it is known as the Eucharist, Holy Communion , The Lord's Supper celebrated in many doctrines to varying degrees listed below.
This is an honouring , praise & worship of the Father for provision.
Jesus did this many times in the New Testament.
Mar 14:23 KJV — "And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave [it] to them: and they all drank of it."
Luk 22:19 KJV — "And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake [it], and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me."
Jhn 6:11 KJV — "And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would."
Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, and many Anglican and Lutheran churches believe in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, meaning that the bread and wine are transformed into the actual body and blood of Christ.
Reformed and Presbyterian churches, influenced by the teachings of John Calvin, believe that Christ is spiritually present in the Eucharist, and that believers receive the actual body and blood of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Some Baptist and Pentecostal churches view the Eucharist primarily as a symbolic remembrance of Christ's sacrifice, without affirming any physical or spiritual presence of Christ in the elements.
What doctrine or practice you believe does not matter above......
Jesus showed what to do quite simply without "carnal mind influence" .
Give thanks!
Are you giving thanks to the Lord for your provision ?
